Precautions to safeguard your computer and mobile device from hackers and other threats should always be taken to protect your information. We recommend that you set up the Two-Factor Authentication on your Facebook profile. If you set up two-factor authentication, you'll be asked to enter a unique login code or confirm your login attempt each time someone tries accessing your Facebook account from an unrecognized device.

How to activate Two-factor authentication:

On Mobile

  1. Tap the Hamburger  Menu in your Facebook application.
  2. Tap the Gear icon  in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

      

  3. Then tap "Password and security"

      

  4. In the Accounts Center tap "Password and security"

      

  5. Choose "Two-factor authentication", and choose an account to set up two-factor authentication.

      

  6. You will be required to re-enter your account's password.

      

  7. Choose the security method you want to add and follow the on-screen instructions.

      

On Web:

  1. Go to Facebook and click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the page.

  2. Select Settings & Privacy (Gear icon). Then, click on Settings.

  3. From the left side of the page, click on Security and Login.

  4. Scroll down to see the Two-Factor Authentication section and click Edit.

      

  5. Choose the security method you want to add and follow the on-screen instructions.
