Welcome to Dice Challenge!
Dice Challenge is a new, fast-paced game mode where you roll letter dice to build high-scoring words. Compete against friends and climb the ranks on a dynamic, randomly generated game board!
How to Start a Game
Starting a match is easy!
- Check out the Dice Challenge card in your Inbox or the In App Dialog
- Open your Friends List and start a game with your friends how you normally would for Classic Mode, but choose the Dice Challenge option.
a. Tap on the player you want to challenge.
b. Select Dice Challenge (Word Dice) from the menu to send an invite.
- Match of the Day - Start a game in the Dice Challenge section by clicking on your Match of the Day
Finding Your Active Games
You can find all your ongoing Dice Challenge matches at the bottom of the "Your Move" section in your main Games List.
How to Play
A Dice Challenge match consists of 5 exciting rounds.
- Turn Order: The player who starts the game moves first in each round.
- The Multiplier: Every round increases the stakes! Your total score for a word is multiplied by the round number:
- Round 1 = x1, Round 2 = x2, Round 3 = x3, etc.
- The Bonus Row: Play a word in every space of a row to earn a Row Bonus. The more rows you complete, the larger the bonus becomes. Fill all 5 rows for a massive points boost!
Rolling & Re-rolling
Not happy with your letters? Shake things up!
- Free Rolls: You get 2 free re-rolls per round to swap out any dice not yet placed on the board.
- Extra Rolls: If you’ve used your free rolls, you can earn more by watching a short video or spending Coins.
Power-Ups
Gain the edge with these special abilities:
- Extra Die: Need more options? Add an 8th die to your tray for the rest of your turn.
- Word Clue: Stuck on a tricky roll? This will highlight dice in your tray that can be used to form a valid word.
- Word Clue Supercharge: Want an even better word recommendation? Upgrade your Word Clue and Supercharge it to get a better recommended word.
The Game Board & Scoring
Both players compete on the same board layout, ensuring a fair fight. Look out for Bonus Spaces to maximize your score:
- Letter Bonuses: Double (DL), Triple (TL), and Quadruple (QL) Letter scores.
- Word Bonuses: Double (DW), Triple (TW), and Quadruple (QW) Word scores.
The game ends once both players have completed all 5 rows. The player with the highest total score wins!
Club Trophies
If you are a member of a Club, playing Dice Challenge helps your team climb the leaderboards! Ways to earn trophies:
- Finish a Dice Challenge Game
- Win a Dice Challenge Game
- Earn Trophies for every 50 points you score (up to 250 points per game)
