As soon as you press the Gas, the race countdown will start. Press and release the Gas repeatedly and try to get the right timing to keep the tachometer in the middle of the green by the end of the countdown to do a Perfect Launch.

Landing the tachometer too far from the centerline of the green and within the orange will start you with a Good Launch. Keep practicing perfect launches to get a better head start on your races.
