Gold Word is a new daily puzzle in Words With Friends where players try to find and play the highest scoring word (the “Gold Word”) before time runs out!
How long do I have to complete the daily Gold Word puzzle?
Each Gold Word puzzle will be available for 24 hours and refreshes daily at 12am Pacific Time. There is also a 60 second timer within Gold Word that counts down during gameplay. You must submit a word before the time runs out.
How do I play and progress through Gold Word?
Each daily Gold Word puzzle consists of three 60 second rounds. In each round, place your tiles from your rack onto the gameboard and find the highest scoring word before time runs out! Be sure to use the Word Strength Meter to check if your word is Bronze, Silver, or hopefully… Gold!
How do I know I’ve found the Gold Word?
When you place the Gold Word on the gameboard, the Word Strength Meter will completely fill up and turn gold. The Gold Word doesn’t always start on the left side so try a few different positions!
What happens if I leave an in-progress round of Gold Word?
If you leave a Gold Word round before you submit a word, then it will be recorded as “No Word Submitted”.
What do the Gold Word powerups do?
There are two powerups in Gold Word:
- Gold Clue - Reveals the location of the Gold Word on the gameboard.
- Clock Stop - Freezes the timer (literally) to give you more time to think and play a word!
When is Gold Word considered complete?
Gold Word is considered complete when you have played a word in all 3 rounds of the puzzle.
