Yes. Any discarded tasks carry a penalty. If you are reaching for the highest possible score, we recommend completing as many tasks as possible, without discarding any. In case a co-op member starts a task and then chooses to cancel it, that task is counted as a failed one and carries a higher penalty. Choose your tasks carefully on your race to the top!
